Notes: Dior is a very sweet boy once he has warmed up and gotten to know you. In fact, he can be a little protective once he likes you. Dior really likes toys and will also be a little protective of them too. He appears housebroken and is comfortable sleeping in his crate at night. His ideal family will have patience and take time to work on socializing him with new people and and new things to build his confidence. He essentially, lived in a purse and was carried around and spoiled in his previous home, so he needs to get out there and explore! He also is not the biggest fan of being touched a lot yet, so please give him time. Dior also likes to voice his opinion on things and could use a few lessons in bark management, but we all could right?

HART is a non-profit 501(c)(3) no-kill animal rescue/support group, incorporated in 1990, that takes in and rehomes abused and unwanted dogs and cats. HART works with local veterinarians, foster homes, kennels, and trainers to provide temporary housing, medical care and, where appropriate, training for our animals until s/he is placed in a loving, carefully-screened new home. HART takes in older, sick, and injured animals as well as the readily adoptable and never takes just the pups and kittens, leaving mom behind. We seek to direct our resources where they are most needed and to alleviate or prevent suffering wherever we find it. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Attention: The safety of our adopters and volunteers is our highest priority. HART has cancelled all dog adoption events until further notice, however we are still doing adoptions for our animals.
Please submit an application online to adopt a dog or cat. After we receive your online application, we will contact you as soon as possible regarding the dog or cat you are interested in.
